Pluto is responsible for all the processes that take a long time maturing underground to explode with volcanic force when the time is ripe. His power is equally destructive and creative, annihilating the old forms, he creates new ones. The whole process often remains invisible until the grand finale. But once Pluto has turned, nothing is as it used to be. Pluto symbolizes cancer and atomic energy, corporations and, above all, the human masses – the steam-roller of history. Interestingly, the plutonium-based nuclear charge is compatible to the symbolic astrological description of the planet. Around a plutonium core there are conventional charges: hidden energy waiting to be released upon signal.
Sagitarius, in which the smallest of planets resided since 1995, is responsible for the broadening of horizons, both physical, mental and spiritual. What happened in the past 13 years? We ponder whether to pop out for a weekend in London, Rome or Madrid, instead of going for a hike in the woods. Space has gotten smaller. Want to know what happened in 1762 or what the panda in San Diego zoo is doing at the moment? Well, go right ahead, the knowledge is at your fingertips. Japanese precision has become a myth, since the latest equipment bears the “made in Indonesia” stamp, while the big brands are Arab or Chinese made. Globalisation – here’s what Pluto in Sagittarius gave us.
But what will happen in Capricorn, the ruler of all that is solid and stable? Stability is in banks and real estate. Solid is what every citizen expects their state and its power to be. Empires are built on stability. But lets go back through the revolutions of the planet, 248 years.
1762 to 1777 – 78
In 1762 the Empress Catherine II ascended to the throne. Her reign begins the visible expansion of Russia. The seven years war ends, a war which Churchill called the first world war, with battlegrounds not only in Europe, but also in the colonies. As a result, the might of France is shaken. The era of Great Britain commences. Jean-Jaques Rousseau publishes his “Of the Social Contract” – one of the founding works of contemporary democracy.
Another spin 1516 – 1532
The Ottoman Empire expands its frontiers in the Middle East and reaches the apogee of its might. The Habsburg become the House of Spain, marking the beginning of their might in Europe and the colonies. At the same time they destroy the Mayan empire. Machiavelli writes his “Prince”, by all means a Plutonic-Capricorn work. Thomas Moore writes “Utopia”, the times of which are still to come. Martin Luther nails his 95 theses. Reformation is quite a stirrer in Germany, but a new leader appears on the horizon – Prussia.
Spinning further 1270 – 1286
The last crusade. The Holy Roman Empire is in decline and the Great Interregnum begins. Tomas Aquinas published the “ Summa Theologica”, in which, apart from religious ones, he develops important doctrines of secular nature.
So what has all this spinning given us? Empires in transformation, either through loss of power or growth and expansion. New forms of government, based on the doctrines created as Pluto enters Capricorn. Rulers, who have great visions and the determination to carry them out at all cost.
And the Empire in sight? The US of A, created in 1776, in July, in Cancer. As Capricorn opposes Cancer, Pluto would rattle the Sun of the contemporary hegemon. Who would be the new master? Poland? Well, not exactly, but as our country is a Taurean, Pluton would offer it a rather healthy trine. It might not be all painless, though. China (Libra) and Iran (Aries) will be branded with its square in a few years time. Israel? The ancients gave it a Capricornian nature, though it is a Taurus in contemporary terms, so who knows? Maybe the EU? No ancients knew of it, and frankly choosing a horoscope out of the many would be a shot from the hip. Might be India – a Leo in zodiac terms, but its nature Capricornian to the core. It is interesting to note that in the historical examples we always see an Asian ruler appear and attempt to widen the sphere of his influence into Europe, but the outcomes vary.
But maybe this time it will be something completely different, based on the new state-national doctrines appearing with Pluto’s ingress into Capricorn. If Pluto means greeeeeat business, then the concept of corporate states is also possible, and there are in Russia companies operating outside the nation’s control, which have their own armies. Nothing better than democracy had been invented. But then again under absolutism no one could have dreamt of a better regime. Totalitarianism may come back, here and there, perhaps in a new, cyber-form. With the Neptune entering Pisces in a few years, it seems possible that the state and religion will move closer together.
Monetary politics, banks and real estate will be transformed by Pluto. Saggie is the bank advisor projecting the optimistic vision: “That loan you’re taking out for 30 years, you’ll pay that back in 5, you’ll see. All you need to do is get a job and you’re sorted.” The further the vision was removed from reality, the more likely his mate with the foreclosure documents appears. The Capricorn does not smile, there is no spin, he came here with one purpose only: “You have read the documents, I don’t care about the rest.” Am I fear-mongering? But when were the cheap mortgages so popular? With Pluto in Sagittarius. And what sort of crisis are we now in? Real estate and mortgages. Pluto enters the Goat. Any loans you have, better get on with them, its time for a reality check.
What about financial markets? Ever heard of the Sagittarius effect? Bulls love it. Bears are more into goats.
Civilization-related diseases. Capricorn rules the skin and bone structure. Pluto viruses and cancer. With the ozone layer getting bigger, it seems to make sense; plus, our ancestors hardly sat for hours in front of computers.
Nature. Cardinal signs, and the Goat is one of them, act suddenly and violently, and the effects are many. There may be many such offerings we can expect from Mother Earth. Pluto rules volcanoes, so we are likely see more smoky mountains than usual. Capricorn rules the solid landmasses, ice and cold. Earthquakes, but mostly climate change and polar meltdown could become more powerful. But then lets not forget that fixed signs are even worse.
The main activities of the ingress on the 26.01.2008 are on the western coast of South America (Chile – Llaima volcano 02.01.2008, Ekwador – the volcano Tungurahua 08.01.2008, Kolumbia – Galeras volcano 21.01.2008), the Carribean, the East Coast of the USA, almost all of Russia, Mongolia, China and Indochina, Turkey, and from Egipt all across Africa to Congo.
So this, in brief, is what the world with a Pluto in Capricorn, seen as the most important sign of the zodiac in mundane astrology, looks like. A generational planet, as can be expected, marks a very important process for billions of people around the world. A long-term process, setting an order for the next quarter of a millennium. The world as we know it is about to end, for something new to begin. Sagittarius has shown the possibilities, for which the Capricorn needs to build a form and place it in reality-bound margins. In 2023 Pluto will enter the anarchist Aquarius, which will smash into pieces what the predecessor has built.
Just as it did in 1789 in France.
But that is a whole different story

and spinning back even further from 30 CE on – Jesus dies [sometime between 30 and 33], Peter becomes the first appointed head of the church. Tiberius founds a credit bank in Rome. A financial crisis hits Rome, due to poorly chosen fiscal policies. Land values plummet, and credit is increased. These actions lead to a lack of cash, a crisis of confidence, and much land speculation. The primary victims are senators, knights and the wealthy. Many aristocratic families are ruined.
